Light bulb
![]() |
The light bulb refers to a lighting source that emits light and heat through electrical energy. It was invented by Henry Goebbels in 1854, and Thomas Alva Edison found a more suitable material to develop an incandescent lamp. It consists of a thin glass casing, an inner filament, a base, and some wires. When current is passed through the filament, the filament is heated and emits light.
Different
types of bulbs have different shapes and brightness. Common bulb types include
incandescent bulbs, fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs, and halogen bulbs. With the
continuous advancement of technology, more and more high-efficiency, low-energy
bulbs are widely used in household, commercial and industrial fields.
Light
bulbs are made on the basis of the heating effect of electric current. After
the bulb is connected to the rated voltage, the current passes through the
filament and is heated to an incandescent state (above 2000C), so it generates
heat and emits light, so that the electric energy is converted into internal
energy and light energy during operation.
The
main function of a light bulb is to provide illumination, that is, to generate
light to help people see their surroundings clearly. People usually use light
bulbs indoors or outdoors to work, study or perform other activities at night
or in low light conditions. In addition, bulbs can also be used as decorations,
such as for interior lighting design or light show performances. In industrial
and commercial fields, light bulbs can also be used as signal lights, indicator
lights and safety lights. In short, light bulbs play a very important role in
modern life, it provides us with a convenient, safe and comfortable lighting
environment.
